David Brackett

Having worked for elite law firms such as Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Eric has worked on high-stakes transactions for clients such as Amazon, Jerry Jones, Banc of America Securities LLC, Palantir and Greenlane Holdings.

Eric is well-known for his writing and scholarship on the topic of the “Silver Tsunami” (also known as “The Great Wealth Transfer”), the largest wealth transfer in history whereby the Baby Boomer generation will transfer $70 trillion or more in assets to Generation Xers and Millennials, including trillions of American small businesses.

Eric has been selected four times as a “Rising Star” (2020, 2022 – 2024) by Super Lawyers for M&A, was named a 2024 “Ones to Watch” by The Best Lawyers in America and is a 2015 graduate of the Duke University School of Law.

Wearing the badge of “Chief Get-It-Done Officer,” David is a Co-Founder of the SMB Center and Chief of Staff at SMB Law Group, a legal startup serving small business buyers, sellers, and operators.

David is a dedicated problem-solver using leadership, results orientation, and systems and process thinking to level up startups and SMBs. Businesses David has worked with have increased YoY revenue more than 400% and tripled in headcount.

Most recently, David joined SMBash, the original self-funded search conference and networking event uniting small business buyers, operators, and investors, as co-owner and co-host. David is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
